Penrith needs more local jobs.

The Penrith community needs to grow the local economy through job creation, and we need the Government to ensure better employment opportunities are available for residents.

We support The Nepean Business Park reaching its full potential through planning controls that support opportunities for small business and it's creation of 18,000+ jobs.

Ministers, please ensure that the planning controls are set to deliver these jobs.

We want local jobs for Penrith residents which will reduce commuting and provide more family time. It will improve health, wellbeing and lifestyle and enhance the environment by removing cars from the roads.

<p>I am concerned about local jobs in Penrith, the environment and planning controls. </p>
<p>The Penrith community wants:</p>
<ol>
<li>To grow the local economy and maximise opportunities for locals.</li>
<li>To support the local environment and ensure the area retains its natural beauty and liveable space.</li>
<li>Simple, certain planning controls that will support small business and make our area an attractive place for businesses to be located.</li>
<li>More jobs created on currently zoned land so we don’t have to rezone further land and destroy the environment with urban sprawl.</li>
</ol>
<p>I understand that the draft Nepean Business Park DCP has the potential to reduce the number of jobs generated by the project due to onerous planning controls that don’t support small business and are not consistent with the objectives of the NSW government. </p>
<p>The promised <strong>18,000+ jobs and $2 billion</strong> of economic activity will provide a crucial boost to the community and we want to ensure these jobs are delivered and that small business is supported.</p>
<p>It is therefore imperative that appropriate planning controls are implemented to bring jobs closer to home and small businesses remains affordable and viable.</p>
<p>As a community, we want local jobs for Penrith residents to reduce commuting times, improve health, wellbeing and lifestyle and improve the environment by removing cars from the roads.</p>
<p>Your attention to this issue will be greatly valued by the Penrith Community.</p>
